Better than Disneyland!

Last holiday I was in France. Before we went to Paris, we visited Asterix's Park.

Entrance to the parc

It's amazing Amusement Park! There are lots of atractions like the biggest rollercoaster in Europe (7 loops!). I didn't try it, but our friends from the trip said us next day, that they are still feeling effects of the ride.

Sorry, I haven't got my own photo :(

I think everybody know Asterix. He's a Gaul. He lives in small village in northern Gaul. This park is dedicated to Asterix and his friends.

On the left you can see Asterix and Obelix in Gallic Village.
On the right  there's  a giant statue of Asterix.

I tried some attractions like rafting, boats (in the park, there are lots of water attractions).

After that rafting I was all wet. Fortunately, it was a sunny day.

I think, the best attractions for me were:

Here ↑ you can see pictures from show of legionnaires fighting with one Gall.
First, centurion chose 5 men from the audience. Then, they went and dressed up in legionnaire uniform. Then, we saw one girl from Gaul. They were fighting. Next there was an acrobatic show.

Another interesting show was the dolphin show. It was amazing! In addition to the dolphins we saw also trained seals. There are some pictures from that show:

And here you are some other photos from the park:
Watch out! There are some falling stones and Romans!

Another pictures which you can see in the Park

I could write about the Asterix park for a long time, but really - if you want to know it, you have to go there!

The Symbol Of Paris

I think you know what I am writing about:
Of course about  Eiffel Tower!

Eiffel Tower is the best known architectural object in Paris.
It was built in 1889 year for World's Fair.
It had to:
  • demonstrate the level of engineering knowledge and technical capabilities of the era
  • be a symbol of economic, technical and scientific power of France in that tme
After 20 years the tower was supposed to be taken down. It's designer decided to allocate the Tower to science. He created there the aerodynamic and meteorological laboratory. Succesfull experiments with located at the top wireless telegraph saved the tower. Now, the Eiffel Tower is the most popular tourist attraction in Paris. About 200 million people visited it.

Time for some numbers!
  • 1889 year - 312.27 m (height of fitted on top of the flag)
  • 1991 year - 317.96 m (height with fitted antenna)
  • 1994 year – 318,70 m  (height with fitted antenna)
  • 2000 year – 324,00 m  (height with fitted antenna) - about 81 floor in normal building

The height of the tower depends of the temperature. It changes about 18cm. Because of the wind, the Tower sways at 6-7cm. All construction consists of 18 038 metal parts and about 2.5 million rivets. It's total weight (with concrete pillars) is about 10.000 tones.

The construction is supported on four concrete pillars of side 25 m each. At the height 57m, 115m and 275m are viewing terraces. The tower covers an area about 15 625 square meters. If you want to go at the top floor, you should go 1665 staircase.

The tower-mounted lamps allow to illuminate Tower at night. The Light Show you can watch at full hours.

And now, some photos from the top floor:

Various photos from the top

I think that's enough. Thanks for reading. So, if you aren't afraid of heights - visit the Eiffel Tower ;)
